On March 24, 2025, at approximately 3:50 PM, a fire broke out at a (17x17) ft, single-story house that owned by U Hla Thein on Tharay Khittaya Road in Dagon Myothit (East) Township, Yangon Region. The fire was caused by the expansion of small (220g) gas canisters placed near a bamboo wall due to heat exposure, which led to ignition and spread to the bamboo wall. According to the report, firefighters from the (East) Dagon Myothit  Township Fire Station, along with auxiliary firefighters, extinguished the fire with three fire engines and two water bowsers. The fire was successfully extinguished by 4:00 PM. Due to the fire, two houses and thatched flooring household items inside the houses were also damaged. (East) Dagon Myothit  Township Police Station has opened a case against U Hla Thein under Section 285 of the Penal Code (Case No. (Pa) 153/2025).
