On March 18, 2025, at around 3:30 AM, a fire broke out at a two-story  house  that owned by Daw Kyi Lay, located on Win Nar Street, Aung Chan Thar Ward, Ye U Town, Shwebo District, Sagaing Region. The fire was caused by residual embers from a cooking fire. According to the report, firefighters from the Ye U Township Fire Station, in collaboration with relevant authorities extinguished the fire with one fire engine and two water bowsers. The fire was successfully extinguished by around 4:10 AM. Due to  the fire, the two-story house (24x24 feet) and a single-story paddy storage house (21x14 feet)  were completely destroyed. Daw Kyi Lay has been charged under Section 285 of the Penal Code at the Ye U Township Police Station.
