February 1, 2025, at approximately 12:30 PM, a traffic accident occurred near the  Milepost (27/1), Panglaung-Kyauk Tan Road, Panglaung Town, Loilem Township, Shan State. A HIGER (orange) "Pyi Nyein San" passenger bus that  driven by U Maung Maung Aye was traveling from Mandalay to Taunggyi when its brakes failed and  overturn into a cornfield. According to the report, firefighters from Pinlaung Fire Station were dispatched with one fire engine to conduct a search and rescue operation, which was completed by 3:30 PM. Due to the accident, 9 people were injured and transferred to the Panglaung  hospital and Loilem Civil Hospital by the ambulance of Myathnalonethar Volunteer Organzation. U Maung Maung Aye, the driver, has been charged under Sections 279, 377, and 378 of the Penal Code by Pinlaung Township Police Station (Case No. Ya (Pa) 1/2025).
