On June 27, 2024, at approximately 4:22 AM, it was reported that near the Aungthapay Highway Gate, Shwenyaung- Taunggyi Pyihtaungsu Road, Shwenyaung Township, Taunggyi, Shan State,  “MITSUBISHI CANTER ” vehicle (white), driven by U Maung Oo from Pinphit  to Taunggyi . The driver can't control the speed and hit the 22 wheel vehicle that stopped on the right side of the road. Following the report of the incident, SAR members of the Taunggyi Township Fire Station and Shwenyaung Township Fire Station  in cooperation with relevant organizations, carried out search and rescue operations with one fire engine and one search and rescue vehicle. The operation was completed at 6:30 AM.As a result of the incident, three women were deceased, and ten people were injured. The injured were transported to Taunggyi  Hospital by the ambulance of Maharwiyayakhita Volunteer's Association. The driver U Maung U was now facing legal action under Case No (Pa) 23/2024 in accordance with Section 279/337/338/304 (A) of the Penal Code at NyaungShwe Local Police Station.
