On September 26, 2024, at approximately 7:00 AM, heavy rainfall in Gantgaw Township, Magway Region, caused the water level of the Myittha River to rise. As a result, the riverbank in Ward (3) was washed away, and further erosion was anticipated. To prevent additional damage, the local fire station in Gantgaw District/Township, in collaboration with relevant organizations, took action. They used one command vehicle and one search and rescue vehicle to evacuate a family of seven from a house near the riverbank to safety, transferred them to their relatives' homes. The operation was completed by 12:45 PM, and no injuries were reported.
