On September 22, 2024, at approximately 10:27 AM, an accident occurred on the Yangon-Mandalay Highway, between mileposts 79/3 and 79/4, in Pyuntanza Town, Nyaunglaybin Township, Bago Region. A white FUSO 22-wheel fuel tanker, driven by U Zaw Min and traveling from Yangon to Mandalay that car lost control and collided with a stationary black NISSAN 22-wheel trailer carrying sacks of grain. According to the report, firefighters from the Nyaunglaypin Township Fire Station and Pyuntanza Local Fire Station, in coordination with relevant organizations, responded with one fire truck to carry out search and rescue operations. The operation was successfully completed at 10:45 AM. Due to the accident, the driver was minor injuries and  transported to Pyuntanza General Hospital by the Shwe Yae Nwe Volunteer Organization vehicle. Legal action has been taken against the FUSO tanker driver, U Zaw Min, under Section 337 of the Penal Code, registered as case number Vehicle (P) 8/2024 at Pyuntanza Local Police Station.
