On August 28, 2024, at around 8:00 AM, a white Mazda vehicle (license plate 9J/6888) driven by U Aik Khan was traveling from Dhat Lone Pagoda to Wan Ban Village in Mineyaung Township, Tachileik District, Shan State. The driver lost control of the vehicle, causing it to collide with an electric pole on the right side of the road and overturn. According to the report, SAR members from  Mineyaung Township Fire Station responded to the scene in collaboration with relevant organizations, using one fire truck to conduct search and rescue operations. The operation was completed by 10:30 AM. Due to the accident, a man was dead and 2 people were injured and transferred to the Mineyaung Civil Hospital by the ambulance of Red Cross emergency vehicle. The Mineyaung Township Police Station has opened a case under Sections 309(a)/337/279 of the Penal Code against the deceased driver for reckless driving.
