On August 27, 2024, at approximately 12:05 AM, a fire broke out at the "Shabu Shabu" restaurant, a 9x12-foot, single-story building that owned by U Zaw Min Htwe. The fire started  due to refrigerator Safeguard aoverheating at the restaurant and that located on Bogyoke Road in Thit Taw Ward, Taunggyi Township, Taunggyi District, Shan State. According to the report, firefighters from the Officwe of the Head of Shan State Fire Services Department, Taunggyi District and Township Fire Stations along with auxiliary firefighters, responded to the incident using one command vehicle, eight fire engine, and one water bowser. The fire was successfully extinguished by 1:00 AM. Due to  the fire, the entire 9x12-foot restaurant was completely destroyed. The owner, U Zaw Min Htwe, has been charged under Section 285 of the Penal Code by Taunggyi Township Police Station (Case No. (P)169/2024).
