On July 28, 2024, around 8:18 AM, in Hmawbi Township, Yangon Region, rising water levels of the Hlaing River caused flooding in the low-lying areas of Amawtwe Village, Myitkyi Village Tract. Upon receiving this news, firefighters from Hmawbi Township Fire Station, including auxiliary members, collaborated with relevant organizations to assist in evacuating residents. The evacuation efforts were completed by 1:00 PM. Due to the flooding, 28 households with a total of 60 people were relocated to the Monastery at the R100 Dhammayon in the Myataung Village Tract, Section 2, near the Amawtwe Village. There were no reported injuries.
