At approximately 2:30 a.m. on 8 July 2026, a fire broke out at Ho Nar Lar Hu Village, Mong Hpyat Township, Shan State. The house owned by U Yaw Hla (27 years old). The fire was caused by residual embers from a cooking stove, which subsequently spread and ignited the structure. Upon receiving the report, firefighters and auxiliary firefighters from the Mong Hpyat Township Fire Station responded to the scene with two fire engines and carried out firefighting operations. The fire was successfully brought under control and completely extinguished at approximately 3:10 a.m. As a result of the incident, one 20 ft × 24 ft corrugated iron-roofed, wooden-floored, wooden-walled stilt house and one 16 ft × 24 ft corrugated iron-roofed, brick-walled, wooden-floored kitchen were completely destroyed by fire. It is further reported that Mr. Yaw Hla (27 years old) has been charged by the Mong Hpyat Township Police Station under Case No. 12/2026, pursuant to Section 285 of the Penal Code, and legal action has been initiated.
