On 4 July 2026, at about 5:10 a.m. a rain tree, became rotten and fell across the Yangon–Mawlamyine Road between Mileposts No. (112/6) and (112/7), near Thoke Kya Village, Paung Township, Mon State, blocking the road. According to the report, firefighters from Mottama Local Fire Station responded  to the scene with one search and rescue vehicle and carried out clearance operations. The operation was successfully completed at approximately 6:45 a.m. No injuries or casualties were reported, and there was no property damage or loss as a result of the incident.
