On 1 June 2026, at approximately 9:30 a.m., due to heavy rainfall, a tree measuring approximately 15 feet in circumference and 70 feet in height fell onto two vehicles and one motorcycle located within the compound of a residence owned by Daw Myint Myint Oo on Thazi Road, Dona Kyan Ward, Monywa Township, Sagaing Region. Upon receiving the report, firefighters from the Monywa District/Township Fire Station responded to the scene with one command vehicle and one fire engine. They carried out clearance operations in cooperation with auxiliary firefighters from Aung Chan Thar Ward, Yone Gyi Ward, Dawna Chan Ward, Myo Thit Ward, and Nandawun Ward. They were further supported by members of the Yone Gyi Youth Social Assistance Association, Metta Seyar Social Assistance Association, the Myanmar Rescue Organization, and other relevant organizations.The clearance operations were successfully completed at 4:30 p.m.As a result of the incident, the front windshield of a TOYOTA BELTA was shattered; the steel roof frame and left side body of a NISSAN VANETTE were damaged; the engine and rear section of a HONDA CLICK 125 motorcycle were severely damaged; two telecommunications poles were damaged; a 20 ft × 4 ft section of a brick wall was damaged; and a 13 ft × 7 ft iron gate was destroyed.No injuries or casualties were reported as a result of the incident.
