On May 30, 2026, at approximately 9:00 AM, a tree, measuring approximately two feet in circumference and 50 feet in height, fell onto the office of the Maternal and Child Welfare Association in Ward (A), Hlaingbwe Town, Hpa-An District, Kayin State. Upon receiving the report, firefighters from the Hlaingbwe Township Fire Station and auxiliary firefighters deployed with one search and rescue vehicle to conduct clearance operations. The operations were successfully completed by 10:30 AM. The incident caused damage to the roof of the Maternal and Child Welfare Association building, destroying seven 10-foot corrugated zinc sheets, one 4x2-inch hollow iron pipe (19 feet in length), and one 2x2-inch hollow iron pipe (19 feet in length). It is reported that there were no casualties.
