On 16 April 2026, at approximately 2:20 p.m., a fire broke out at a single-storey house that owned by U Kyi Moe, in Phyatta Paing Ward, Yelaykalay Village, Maubin Township,  Ayeyawaddy Region. The fire was caused by overheating of the main electrical switchboard. According to the report, firefighters from the Yelaykalay Local Fire Station, together with auxiliary firefighters, responded with one fire engine and carried out firefighting operations. The fire was successfully extinguished at 2:25 p.m. Due to the fire, one single-storey house was destroyed. It is also reported that U Kyi Moe was charged by Shwetaungmhaw Area Police Station under Case No. (P)6/2026, Section 285 of the Penal Code.
