At approximately 11:10 a.m. on October 13, 2025, a fire broke out at the Kyauktawya Pagoda Market Shop Building in Kyauktawya Village, Pwintbyu Township, Minbu District, Magway Region. The fire started in the (7 x 15) ft shop owned by U Thaung Shwe The fire started due to embers left from a stove. According to the report, firefighters from the Pwintbyu Township Fire Station and the Kyauktawya Auxiliary Fire Station responded with one fire engine and two water bowsers. The fire was completely extinguished at around 11:45 a.m. Due to the fire, fifteen (7 x 15 ft) 15 shops were destroyed. The owner, U Thaung Shwe (age 58), has been charged under Section 285 of the Penal Code (case number (Pa) 51/2025) by the Letkaing Police Station.
