On August 7, 2025, at around 9:00 a m, a fire broke out in a (30x20) ft, single-storey, corrugated iron-roofed, fenced residential house located in Myothit Gyi Ward, Plot (15), Lane (6), Myitkyina Township, Kachin State. The house belonged to U Aye Htun and was rented by U Yin Min Zaw. The fire started when the electrical socket in the kitchen overheated, igniting the nearby wall. According to the report, personnel from the Myitkyina District/Township Fire Station cooperative with  auxiliary firefighters, responded with one fire engine and two water bowsers. The fire was successfully extinguished at 9:20 a m. Due to the fire, the entire (30x20) ft house was completely destroyed. It was also reported that Myitkyina Township Police Station has opened a case against the tenant, U Yin Min Zaw, under Section 285 of the Penal Code, with case number (P) 148/2025.
