On April 11, 2025, at around 1:35 a.m., a fire broke out in the kitchen at the back of a two-story house owned by U San Win, located on Waypone Lann (6) Street, Ward No. (20), Hlaingthaya (West) Township, Yangon Region. The fire reportedly started due to overheating of a power strip.Upon receiving the report, firefighters and auxiliary fire personnel from the Hlaingthaya Township Fire Station responded with four fire engines and four water bowsers The fire was successfully extinguished at 2:09 a.m.Due to the fire, four one-story houses (each 10x60 feet, with zinc roofs, fenced walls, and wooden floors) and one 10x60-foot single-story steel structure were completely destroyed. Legal action has been taken against the owner, U San Win, by the Hlaingthaya (West) Township, Thaunggyi Area Police Station under case number (P)443/2025, in accordance with Section 285 of the Penal Code.
