On 4 August 2026, at about 1:00 p.m. a white Toyota Alphard, driven by San Tun Aung, aged 31, from Yangon to Nay Pyi Taw, caught fire near Milepost No. (143/6) on the Yangon–Mandalay Expressway in Oktwin Township, Bago Region. While driving without checking the vehicle's mechanical condition, the vehicle's warning light came on. The driver stopped the vehicle and opened the bonnet, at which point a fire broke out in the engine compartment. According to  the report, firefighters from Bodhi Kone Expressway Fire Station extinguished to the scene with one fire engine and, in cooperation with relevant organizations, carried out firefighting operations. The fire was successfully extinguished at approximately 1:55 p.m. The entire vehicle was destroyed by the fire. No injuries or casualties were reported. A case has been filed against the driver, San Tun Aung, aged 31, at Zee Pin Thar Area Police Station under Case No. 11/2026, Section 285 of the Penal Code.
