On 30 July 2026, at about 10:42 p.m. due to heavy rainfall in Thagaukchaung Village Tract, Laymyethna Township, Hinthada District, Ayeyarwady Region, the water level of the Ngawun River rose, Ngawun Embankment and flow through the embankment. As a result, a section of the embankment subsided, causing flooding in nearby villages and wards. Under the leadership of U Aung Swe Win, Ayeyarwady Region Fire Services Department Officer, search and rescue personnel and auxiliary firefighters from Hinthada District/Township Fire Stations, Ingapu Township Fire Station, Myanaung Township Fire Station, Kyangin Township Fire Station, and Zalun Township Fire Station, in cooperation with relevant organizations, have been carrying out evacuation and relief operations, including the distribution of clean drinking water and relief supplies. From 7:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. on 3 August 2026, a total of 651 households comprising 2,217 people from the following flood-affected villages were assisted in relocating to safe areas, Sayar Kwin Village: 54 households, 204 people, Hnget Ban Taw Village: 113 households, 300 people, Ywa Thit Su Village: 120 households, 302 people, Khat Tu Village: 4 households, 40 people, O Tan Village: 30 households, 115 people, Thein Kone Village: 12 households, 52 people, Aing Thabyu Village: 108 households, 398 people, Nyaung Waing Village: 92 households, 370 people, Pauk Kone Village: 37 households, 108 people, Kyon Padut Village: 7 households, 28 people, Padauk Chaung Village: 58 households, 250 people, Mayin Ku Village: 16 households, 50 people. Rescue and relief operations are continuing.
