On 2 August 2026, at approximately 8:00 a.m. heavy rainfall caused floodwater to overflow onto the Hopong–Loikaw Road between Mile Posts 210/0 and 210/1 in Hopong Township, Shan State, leaving approximately 2 feet of water covering the roadway. Upon receiving the report, one fire engine and firefighters from the Hopong Township Fire Station were dispatched to the scene. In coordination with the relevant organizations, they assisted in facilitating the safe and smooth movement of motorists and other road users through the affected area.
