At approximately 6:46 AM on May 15, 2026, a mango tree measuring about 4.5 feet in circumference and approximately 20 feet in height collapsed on 91st Street, Kandawkalay (South) Ward, Mingala Taung Nyunt Township, Yangon Region, due to heavy rainfall which loosened the soil and weakened the roots. According to the report, firefighters and auxiliary firefighters from the Mingala Taung Nyunt Township Fire Station, in cooperation with members of the municipal parks and gardens department, responded with one fire engine to carry out clearance operations. The operation was successfully completed at approximately 8:03 AM. It was reported that there were no injuries resulting from the incident.
