In Myaungmya Township, Ayeyarwady Region, with the aim of enabling the most effective and easiest response in the event of a fire emergency and to ensure fire safety, the Township Fire Services Department carried out a fire prevention awareness and inspection activity at the Myanmar Posts and Telecommunications (MPT) Office at 9:00 a.m. on 11 February. During the activity, led by the Township Fire Officer, firefighters inspected the MPT office to ensure fire safety by checking electrical wiring and electrical appliances, stoves and cooking equipment, water pots, water tanks, and reservoirs They also advised the staff to keep fire safety equipment such as, fire hooks, fire beaters, water buckets, sand buckets, and fire extinguishers, properly extinguish candles, mosquito coils, and stove fires. Additionally, they explained that staff must know emergency firefighting methods and how to properly use and handle fire extinguishers. Afterwards, firefighters conducted a practical fire drill demonstration, and the MPT office staff actively participated in the exercise.
