On 1 February 2026, at approximately 2:58 a.m., a fire broke out at a two-storey residential house that owned by Daw Tin Tin Aye, located on Myin Phyu Inn Road, Ward No. (19), Taungoo Township, Bago Region. The fire originated from a short circuit at an electrical socket in the kitchen, which ignited and caused the fire. According to the report, firefighters from Taungoo Township Fire Station, together with members of Taungoo Rescue Philanthropic Association, Ketu Philanthropic Association, and Maha Metta Philanthropic Association, including auxiliary firefighters and volunteers, responded with three fire engines and three water bowsers and conducted firefighting operations. The fire was successfully extinguished at 3:22 a.m. Due to the fire, a two-storey residential house  was completely destroyed. The house owner, Daw Tin Tin Aye (65 years old), died due to burn injuries. In addition, one 10-year-old boy and one 34-year-old woman sustained minor burn injuries (non-critical) and were transported to Taungoo Township Public Hospital by an ambulance from the Shwe Min Wun Philanthropic Association. It is reported that the deceased owner, Daw Tin Tin Aye (65 years old), has been registered as the victim in a case opened by Taungoo Town Police Station No. (1) under Case No. (P) 23/2026, Sections 285, 304-A, 337, and 338 of the Penal Code, and legal action has been taken.
