On 28 January 2026, at approximately 9:15 a.m., a fire broke out at a one-storey residential house that owned by U Win Myint, located in Kamanibbān Village, Kyaukkadin Village Tract, Hlegu Township, Yangon Region. The fire was caused by overheating of installed electrical wiring, which ignited and started the fire. According to the report, firefighters from Hlegu Township Fire Station and the 11-Mile Expressway Local Fire Station responded with three fire engines and carried out firefighting operations. The fire was successfully extinguished at 9:46 a.m. Due to the fire, a one-storey residential house measuring (20 × 28) feet, with corrugated iron roofing, brick/bamboo walls, and wooden flooring, a one-storey residential house measuring (15 × 15) feet, with corrugated iron roofing, bamboo walls, and wooden flooring. In total, two residential houses were damaged by fire. It is also learned that the house owner, U Win Myint (66 years old), has been charged by Hlegu Town Police Station under Case No. (P) 14/2026,Section 285 of the Penal Code, and legal action has been taken.
