On 26 January 2026, at approximately 9:20 a.m., a fire broke out in Kyunsu Township, Tanintharyi Region, Ward No. (2), on Khwa Nyo Road. The fire broke out at single-storey stilt house that owned by Daw Thida Win, due to an electrical short circuit in the wiring. The fire spread to nearby bamboo walling. According to the report,fire fighters from Kyunsu Township Fire Station responded in cooperation with relevant organizations with two fire engines, one search and rescue vehicle and one water bowser from the Tanintharyi Naval Base Headquarters to extinguish the fire. The fire was successfully brought under control at 9:40 a.m. Due to the fire, a single-storey stilt house with a corrugated iron roof, bamboo walls, and wooden flooring was completely destroyed. It is also reported that the homeowner, Daw Thida Win (53 years old), has been charged by Kyunsu Town Police Station under Case No. (Pa) 2/2026, Section 285 of the Penal Code.
