On August 27, 2025, due to heavy rainfall in Ottara District, Nay Pyi Taw, flooding occurred in Makyee Pin Village, Nyaung Pin Thar Village, Shauk Kone Village, Naung Khan Village, and Byine Inn Village of Tatkon Township, as well as water overflow across the old Yangon–Mandalay road near Taik Kone Village, Zeyarthiri Township. The incident was reported at around 5:45 a.m. Under the close supervision of Director General U Myat Thu of the Fire Services Department, firefighting personnel from Nay Pyi Taw Central Fire Station, Ottara District Fire Station, Tatkon Township Fire Station and Zeyarthiri Township Fire Station, along with auxiliary firefighters and Youth Voluntary Association and the Metta Shin Philanthropic Association, participated in the operations. They used 1 command vehicle, 5 search and rescue vehicles, 8 motorboats, and 1 ambulance to carry out evacuation and relief efforts. As a result of the flooding, 23 households (60 people) from Makyee Pin and Nyaung Pin Thar Villages were evacuated to Ywat Twin Phyu Monastery.6 households (21 people) from Byine Inn Village were evacuated to Byine Inn Monastery compound.12 households (53 people) from Shauk Kone and Naung Khan Villages were evacuated to Kyathae Inn Monastery.
